The Maker’s Manifesto

My hands are stained with ink and dye,
I’ve got a “vision” in my eye.
I started with a simple plan,
Then ignored it like a rebel can.

The kitchen table? Gone from view,
Buried under paint and glue.
I bought more yarn, I bought more beads,
To satisfy my “creative needs.”

My spouse asks, “Is that project done?”
I laugh and say, “It’s just begun!”
For art is long and life is brief,
So the laundry can just wait a week.

So here’s to us, the maker crew,
With paint-stained shirts and dreams to do.
We’re dreamers, makers, bold and free,
Creating art for the world we wish to see.
